Recent feedback on Kindy in the Park

"“What a lovely visit today. Kindy in the Park is such a beautiful space for kids, I have been to many child care centres in my time as an OT and this is by far the best I have been to. Everyone was so nurturing of the kids and they all looked so happy and safe”.

Kindy in the Park presents Stories in the Park

Providing opportunities for young children in the area to be exposed to early literacy has long been a mission for Kindy in the Park. Stories in the Park is about to be launched where families and come in an exchange books from our book library. With the help of Noel and Denis from the Claremont Show Ground Men’s Shed we now have a book library which will soon be available to local families.

Building boats builds bridges

Building boats builds bridges In mid-2022, amidst an emerging maritime disaster, a group of children needed a saviour. Just when hope was beginning to fade, the Claremont Showgrounds Men’s Shed received a message in a bottle, and quickly sprang into action. The children at Kindy in the Park had found their heroes.

Through some community connections, the Men’s Shed were able to source a new boat, albeit one who needed a bit of love and care. Noel and the team set to work to repair the ship and give it to the kids at Kindy at the Park, who were ecstatic to set sail once again. These shipping escapades were the start of a close and fruitful relationship between the two organisations.

“With the backing of the Showgrounds Community Men’s Shed, we have been able to complete some great projects for the Kindy and more importantly the kids that attend,” said Steve Gerreyn, Community Liaison Coordinator of the Men’s Shed. “The smiles on their faces are memorable and continue to bring us a lot of pleasure in our achievements.”

Investing in the significant occasion of Her Majesty’s Jubilee through community tree planting events across Australia

The Planting Trees for The Queen’s Jubilee Program is supporting eligible groups and organisations to honour The Queen and the legacy of her achievements during the year of her Jubilee through community-based commemorative tree planting events. Planting regionally appropriate species that enhance the tree canopy will also leave a legacy of its own—in the form of trees flourishing across the nation for Australians to enjoy into the future.
