Our program

The program that we have developed at Kindy in the Park incorporates the national frameworks specific emphasis on play based learning and recognises the importance of communication and language (including early numeracy and literacy concepts) as well as the social and emotional development of our children.

Our talented and enthusiastic staff provide a stimulating and creative learning environment which is based on the interests of our children for them to achieve these outcomes. 

Our people

Our fully qualified ECEC Lead Teachers teach on site 100% of the time. Our Lead Teachers are also persons with management responsibility who are approved to manage child care centres in their own right.

Kindy in the Park is an education and care centre approved by the Department of Communities Education and Care Regulatory Unit (ECRU).  Kindy in the Park meets the National Quality Framework standards which is in place for children’s education and care services across Australia and fully conforms with the WA framework; Education and Care Services National Law (WA) Act 2012 and the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2012.

Membership

As an Association, we follow the common rules which govern all associations. Membership as available to parents/guardians who are currently financial and enrolled at Kindy in the Park. On enrolment parents and guardians are deemed to be Associate Members. Should they choose to play a more active role in the Association, Associate Members may become Ordinary Members at any time by completing a nomination form and provided the nomination is accepted by the Board.  Ordinary Members have full voting rights.

Waiting lists

As a unique local pre-kindy we offer 14 approved places per day Monday to Friday. Kindy in the Park supports approximately 45 families per week. We offer a waiting list should places come up later in the year

Meeting charitable obligations

Kindy in the Park Inc. is registered as a charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission (ACNC) and is required to meet the required reporting obligations. Our governing documents are also available here.

Our people

Kindy in the Park offers experienced staff with a wealth of experience and stability of programming in early childhood education. Each day KITP provides two qualified teachers who work collaboratively in teaching and support roles.

Emily Dickson (Lead Teacher /Approved Provider and PMC) Bachelor of Primary Education, Graduate Certificate Early Childhood Education - Tuesday and Fridays

Emily has taught at KITP for 11 years having spent many years teaching in kindergarten and pre primary centres. Emily previously taught at Happy Campers Pre-Kindy and Iona Primary School. Always making sure the children feel safe, secure, supported, heard and are having fun, for Emily introducing sustainable practices ensuring the children experience recycling materials is a passion. Emily lives locally has two lovely girls and loves swimming, playing tennis and hiking.

Helen Heller (Lead Teacher /Approved Provider and PMC) Bachelor of Early Childhood Education - Monday. Wednesday and Thursdays

Helen has taught at KITP for 4 years, having worked as an early childhood specialist in the non government sector. Helen also taught at Teddy Bears Corner and for 10 years as a early childhood teacher at Mel Maria Catholic School. Helen lives locally and has three young children and can often be spotted enjoying days at the beach with her family.

Katherine Sanders (Co Educator) Bachelor of Education (Hons -University of London) - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays

Kathy has taught as a kindergarten /preprimary and year 1 teacher at Bold Park Community School (qualified Reggio Emilia teacher), private, government and non government sectors and in the UK over many years. Katherine worked at Happy Campers Pre-Kindy and Quintillion School, prior to working at KITP. Katherine has been at KITP for 7 years.

Kathy believes that nurturing, loving, listening, caring and having fun is the best way to make children feel safe and happy and this is when children do their best learning. 

Kathy believes that learning through play based, open ended activities that have endless possibilities really challenges the children and helps them become inquisitive. It also keeps children interested and creates lots of self driven fun. Kathy has  a passion for observational art with young children.

Clarice Lo (Teacher) Bachelor Arts (Monash) Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education (RMIT University Melbourne) - Thursday and Friday mornings

Kindy in the Park will welcome Clarice to our highly proficient team of fully qualified ECEC teachers in 2024.

Clarice will add to our expertise in programming and planning. Clarice has worked at Kindy in the Park recently, Methodist Ladies College Early Learning Centre , Claremont, Early Patch Early Learning (Melbourne)and Nido Early School Belmont before graduating as an ECEC teacher.
